Good software, for the common good
We're a small Canadian studio in St. Marys, Ontario with a stubborn belief: the best tools should be within reach of everyone — not locked behind enterprise pricing and needless complexity.
Born from a desire to actually help
Common Good Labs began with frustration — the good kind. We watched small and medium businesses get squeezed by software that charged punishing per-seat fees and buried them in enterprise complexity they never asked for and could never fully use.
The tools that could genuinely help them were priced and designed as if only the largest companies deserved them. That never sat right with us.
So we built a studio around a different idea: make solutions that actually help, out of love rather than a desire for cash — solutions that serve the common good of all, not just a few.

Four beliefs we won't compromise on
Attainable, not extractive
We reject per-seat gouging and bloated enterprise complexity. Small and medium businesses deserve great tools at fair prices — full stop.
Built out of love
We do this because we care about the craft and the people it serves — not to maximize a number on a spreadsheet.
For the common good of all
Our work should leave whole communities better off, not concentrate advantage in the hands of a few.
Calm and durable
We build things that feel good to use and keep working for years. No chaos, no churn, no burning anyone out.
We take care of our people first
Comfort and happiness aren't perks bolted on at the end. They're the foundation. A cared-for team builds calm, humane software — it's that simple.
Sane hours
Deep work, real rest. We protect focus and time off like it matters — because it does.
Flexible & remote-friendly
Work from our St. Marys studio or from home. We hire for trust, not for chair-time.
Always learning
A real budget and real time for courses, conferences, and side experiments.
A studio, not a factory
Small team, big ownership. Everyone shapes the work and shares in the outcome.
A warm place to do good work
Our home base in downtown St. Marys, Ontario.

The team behind the work
A small, senior crew who care deeply about the craft — and about each other.
